What Does Call Tracking Actually Cost Per Month?
Updated August 6, 2026· every figure checked against the vendor’s own pricing page
More than the sticker price, on every platform we could compute. Priced across one identical month — 10 local tracking numbers and 500 local talk minutes in a month — the base fee understates the bill by between 45% and 62% on the 5 of 8 platforms that publish enough to work it out. The cheapest real month is WhatConverts at $47.50, against a $30 base fee. The other 3 cannot be computed at all and this page says so rather than guessing: Nimbata, Invoca and Marchex each leave out something you would need. 4 of the 8 include no numbers and no minutes with the base fee whatsoever, so on those the metering starts at the first call.
RangeYourself has no affiliate relationship with any call-tracking platform on this page as of August 6, 2026: every link here goes straight to the vendor’s own site and earns us nothing. We may pursue one in this category, and if we do we will say so here. Either way the ordering follows published prices and each vendor’s own published rates, and a vendor that pays nothing is listed on exactly the same basis as one that does. See how we make money and our editorial standards.
One month, eight platforms, the same usage
Each figure below is the cheapest tier the vendor publishes, plus the numbers and minutes above whatever that tier includes at the vendor's own per-unit rates, less any usage credit the vendor states. Nothing is estimated. Where a component is unpublished the row says not calculable and names what is missing.
| Platform | Cheapest published base fee | The same month with 10 numbers and 500 minutes | Difference | Transparency |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| WhatConverts | $30/mo on Call Tracking, billed monthly | $47.50/mo | +$17.50 (+58%) | Full (3 of 3) |
| CallScaler | $45/mo on Pro, on the vendor’s annual term | $72.50/mo | +$27.50 (+61%) | Full (3 of 3) |
| CallRail | $50/mo on Lead Tracking, on the vendor’s annual term | $80/mo | +$30 (+60%) | Full (3 of 3) |
| CallTrackingMetrics | $65/mo on Marketing Lite, on the vendor’s annual term | $105/mo | +$40 (+62%) | Full (3 of 3) |
| Ringba | $127/mo on Business, on the vendor’s annual term | $184.50/mo | +$57.50 (+45%) | Full (3 of 3) |
| Invoca | No price published | Not calculable | Invoca publishes no price for the platform, so there is no base fee to start from. | None published (0 of 3) |
| Marchex | No price published | Not calculable | Marchex publishes no price for the platform, so there is no base fee to start from. | None published (0 of 3) |
| Nimbata | $35/mo on Pro, billed monthly | Not calculable | Nimbata publishes a per-number rate and a per-minute rate and what its entry tier includes nowhere on its pricing page, so a monthly total cannot be computed from what it publishes. | Partial (1 of 3) |
The scenario is 10 local tracking numbers and 500 local talk minutes in a month, chosen before any rate was read so that the metering would be visible rather than hidden inside an allowance. Chosen before the rates were read: a volume above every entry plan's included allowance in this set, so the metering is visible rather than hidden inside an inclusion. It is a floor, not a quote. It excludes toll-free numbers, texts, transcription, AI analysis and every add-on, all of which are metered separately by most of these vendors.
The arithmetic, shown rather than asserted

5 of the 8 publish a per-minute rate on their own pricing page (WhatConverts, CallScaler, CallRail, CallTrackingMetrics and Ringba). Nimbata, Invoca and Marchex do not. Two patterns in that table are worth pointing at. Ringba is the only vendor whose rates change with the tier, so its more expensive plan meters more cheaply. CallScaler is the only one that states the opposite explicitly: “Every plan pays the same low usage rates: $0.50/mo local numbers · $0.045/min calls · $0.02 texts”
The three we could not compute, and exactly why
- Nimbata: Nimbata publishes a per-number rate and a per-minute rate and what its entry tier includes nowhere on its pricing page, so a monthly total cannot be computed from what it publishes.
- Invoca: Invoca publishes no price for the platform, so there is no base fee to start from.
- Marchex: Marchex publishes no price for the platform, so there is no base fee to start from.
None of that is a criticism. Publishing no price is a normal enterprise go-to-market choice, and a rate card behind a calculator is a design decision rather than a trick. It does mean a buyer cannot budget or shortlist those platforms without a sales conversation, which is the practical difference this page measures and the only claim it makes.
Where the base fee hides the most
The single biggest driver of the gap is not the rate, it is the allowance. 4 of the 8 platforms include no numbers and no minutes at all with the base fee: CallTrackingMetrics, WhatConverts, Ringba and CallScaler. On those the meter starts running on the first call, which is why a higher-looking allowance-inclusive plan can end the month cheaper than a lower-looking one that includes nothing.

This page compares what each vendor publishes about price, allowances and per-unit rates. It makes no claim about which platform attributes calls more accurately, transcribes more faithfully, integrates more cleanly or is better supported, because those are not things a pricing page can establish and we have not tested them.
Worth saying plainly, because it shapes what you are reading: RangeYourself currently has no affiliate relationship with any call-tracking platform on this page, and every vendor link here goes straight to the vendor’s own site. If that changes, this line changes with it. Either way nothing here is written to push you towards a demo, no vendor pays for placement, and the ranked tables sort on published prices rather than on anything we are paid.
Frequently asked questions
How much does call tracking cost per month?
On one identical month of 10 local tracking numbers and 500 local talk minutes in a month, between $47.50 and $184.50 across the 5 platforms that publish enough to compute, verified August 6, 2026. The base fees for those same platforms run from $30 upward, so the metering adds between 45% and 62%.
Why is my call tracking bill higher than the plan price?
Because numbers, minutes, texts and transcription are metered on top of it, and on 4 of the 8 platforms here the base fee includes no numbers and no minutes at all. Every published rate is in the table on this page, so you can multiply your own volume rather than being surprised by it.
Which call tracking software is cheapest?
WhatConverts, at $47.50 for this scenario, verified August 6, 2026. That is a statement about one month of one usage pattern on each vendor's cheapest tier, not a verdict about the products. Change the mix — more toll-free, more texts, more transcription — and the ordering can change with it, which is why every rate is published here rather than only the total.
Do all call tracking platforms charge per minute?
Every one that publishes a rate does, except in how they frame it. 5 of the 8 publish a per-minute figure. Nimbata prices per answered call instead and says so: "Nimbata is the only call tracking platform that charges per “answered call”, not per-call, not per-minute." Its own fair-use clause reintroduces call length, reconciling any destination whose average call runs over 3.5 minutes.
Do any call tracking companies not publish prices?
2 of the 8 here. Invoca publishes a three-tier pricing page with stated number allowances and no dollar figure on it, and Marchex has no pricing page at all: marchex.com/pricing returns a 404 and no pricing link appears in its navigation. Both are legitimate enterprise choices and neither is evidence of anything about the products.
How we verify this
Every figure on this page was read from the vendor’s own pricing page and is stored with that page’s URL, a verbatim quote, and the date it was checked (most recent: August 6, 2026). 5 of these 8pages render their prices or their rate cards in the browser rather than in the served HTML, so they were read in a browser with each billing option selected in turn. The monthly totals on this page are arithmetic on published figures only: a base fee, plus the numbers and minutes above whatever that tier includes at the vendor’s own per-unit rates, less any usage credit the vendor states. Where any one of those components is unpublished, the row says not calculable rather than estimating the rest, and names what is missing. A blank in a rate column means the vendor publishes no figure for it, which is a statement about the page and not a claim about the product. Publishing no price at all is a normal enterprise choice and is recorded as such. See our editorial standards and how we verify.
