Range Yourself

Close vs Pipedrive

Updated August 6, 2026· every figure checked against the vendor’s own pricing page

For anyone with a team, Pipedrive is the cheaper of the two. Close's cheapest tier looks lower at $19 per user a month against Pipedrive's $24, but Close caps that tier at a single user, so the first tier a team can actually buy is Essentials at $49 per user month-to-month ($35 annually) against Pipedrive Lite at $24 ($14). All verified on August 6, 2026. Pipedrive is also the only CRM in this index that prints the actual annual amount in dollars beside each per-seat figure, so the size of the commitment is stated rather than implied. What Close has that Pipedrive's pricing page never mentions is calling and SMS in the product, named from its Essentials tier. Pipedrive instead publishes five separately priced add-ons.

RangeYourself has no affiliate relationship with any CRM on this page as of August 6, 2026: every link here goes straight to the vendor’s own site and earns us nothing. We may pursue one in this category, and if we do we will say so here. Either way the ordering follows published prices and each vendor’s own stated terms, and a vendor that pays nothing is listed on exactly the same basis as one that does. Lite$24/user/mo$14/user/mo
Growth$49/user/mo$39/user/mo
Premium$79/user/mo$59/user/mo
Ultimate$99/user/mo$79/user/mo

Pipedrive prints the annual commitment as a dollar figure on each card: Lite at $168 per seat per year, Growth at $468 per seat per year, Premium at $708 per seat per year, Ultimate at $948 per seat per year. No other CRM in this index does that, and the per-month framing everywhere else is what makes an annual commitment read like a monthly one.

Year one, both ways

Year one for a team of 5TotalHow that is made up
Close$540$9/user/mo billed annually on Solo, times 12 months, times 5 seats.
Pipedrive$840$14/user/mo billed annually on Lite, times 12 months, times 5 seats.

Close’s cheapest paid tier is capped at one user, so a five-person team would buy Essentials rather than the tier priced above. Pipedrive states no seat cap or minimum on any tier.

Calling, and what the absence of it on a page does and does not mean

Close's pricing page states “Built-in forms, email, calling & SMS” and “Make/receive calls worldwide within Close”. Pipedrive's pricing page names no calling capability in any tier. That is a description of Pipedrive's pricing page on 2026-08-06, not a claim that Pipedrive has no calling: a vendor is under no obligation to list every capability where it lists prices. If calling matters to your decision, it is a question to put to Pipedrive rather than an answer to take from its pricing page.

Web Visitorsfrom $41
Smart Docsfrom $32.50

Those five add-ons are the part of Pipedrive's pricing that most changes the comparison. Each is priced from a stated figure rather than at a fixed one, so a Pipedrive bill can move a long way above the tier price without leaving the published pricing page.

This page compares what each vendor publishes about price and terms. It makes no claim about which CRM is easier to use, faster to implement or better supported, because those are not things a pricing page can establish and we have not tested them.

Worth saying plainly, because it shapes what you are reading: RangeYourself currently has no affiliate relationship with any CRM on this page, and every vendor link here goes straight to the vendor’s own site. If that changes, this line changes with it. Either way nothing here is written to push you towards a demo, no vendor pays for placement, and the ranked tables sort on published prices rather than on anything we are paid.

Frequently asked questions

Which is cheaper, Close or Pipedrive?

Pipedrive, for any team of two or more. Close's Solo tier is the lower headline at $19 per user month-to-month against Pipedrive's $24, but Close caps Solo at one user. The first Close tier a team can buy is Essentials at $49 per user month-to-month ($35 annually), against Pipedrive Lite at $24 ($14). Both verified August 6, 2026. Pipedrive's five add-ons can narrow that gap depending on what you need.

Does Pipedrive include calling?

Pipedrive's pricing page names no calling capability in any tier as of August 6, 2026. We record that as what the page says rather than as a claim about the product. Close's pricing page does name calling, from its Essentials tier.

What is the real annual cost of Pipedrive?

Pipedrive publishes it directly, which almost nobody does: Lite $168 per seat per year, Growth $468 per seat per year, Premium $708 per seat per year, Ultimate $948 per seat per year. Prices are stated exclusive of VAT.

Do either of them have a free plan?

Neither publishes a permanently free tier. Pipedrive publishes a 14-day trial with no credit card required. Close publishes a free trial with no credit card needed and a 30-day money-back guarantee on paid plans.

Is there a minimum number of seats on either?

Neither states a seat minimum. Close caps its cheapest tier, Solo, at one user, which is a maximum rather than a minimum, so a team has to start at Essentials.

How we verify this

Every figure on this page was read from the vendor’s own pricing page and is stored with that page’s URL, a verbatim quote, and the date it was checked (most recent: August 6, 2026). Most of these pages render their prices in the browser rather than in the served HTML, so they were read in a browser at the same URL, with both billing toggles set in turn. Where a vendor publishes no number, we say so instead of repeating a figure from elsewhere. A blank in the calling column means the vendor’s pricing page names no calling capability, which is a statement about the page and not a claim about the product. Percentages and totals are arithmetic on published figures only. See our editorial standards and how we verify.
