Contractor Management Software Under $50 a Month
Updated August 6, 2026 · 8 providers checked against their own pages
5 of the 8 providers in this index publish a contractor-management fee at or under $50 per contractor a month, and the published range across everyone who states one runs from $5 to $49 — a 10-fold spread. That spread is not a like-for-like saving, and the single most useful thing this page can tell you is why. The cheapest figures belong to invoicing-and-payments products. The dearest belong to fuller contractor-management platforms. And a third, separately priced product — contractor of record, where the provider engages the contractor instead of you and carries the classification risk — runs from $199 to $399 and is listed further down rather than ranked here. Every figure is quoted from the provider’s own page and dated.
Every figure on this page is a platform fee. It is what the provider charges to employ or engage someone on your behalf, and it excludes salary, statutory employer contributions, mandatory benefits, severance accruals, deposits, implementation fees and every country-specific government cost. Those dominate the real bill, they vary enormously by country, and no provider in this index publishes a total that includes them — several say so on their own pages. Nothing here is the cost of hiring anyone.
RangeYourself has no affiliate relationship with any provider on this page as of August 6, 2026: every link here goes straight to the provider’s own site and earns us nothing. We may pursue one in this category, and if we do we will say so here. Either way the ordering follows published figures, and a provider that pays nothing is listed on exactly the same basis as one that does. See how we make money and our editorial standards.
Under $50 per contractor a month
Ranked cheapest first. The product name in the table is the provider’s own, and it is the thing to read before the number: these are not all the same purchase.
| Provider | EOR, per employee a month | Contractor management | Platform fee for 3 employees and 1 contractor | What the fee does not cover |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Papaya Global Prices five separate products and prefixes every one of them with starting from, then puts the same quote button under each. | From $499 per employee/month · the provider states this as a starting price | From $5 per contractor/month · the provider states this as a starting price | From $1,502/mo $499 per employee/month times 3 employees ($1,497) plus $5 per contractor/month times 1 contractor ($5). At least one of those two figures is a floor the vendor states as “From”, so this total is a floor too. |

| G-P The only provider in this index with no pricing page at all: both pricing URLs return 404 and the figures live on the product pages. | From $599 per employee / month · the provider states this as a starting price | From $39 per month, per contractor · the provider states this as a starting price | From $1,836/mo $599 per employee / month times 3 employees ($1,797) plus $39 per month, per contractor times 1 contractor ($39). - Papaya Global, Contractor solution: from $5 per contractor/month — “Contractor solution Manage and pay your contractors starting from $5 per contractor/month” A contractor payments and invoice-management product, distinct from Papaya's Contractor of Record service, which it prices separately and far higher.
- Oyster, Global Contractors: $29 per contractor/month — “"price": 29, "priceCurrency": "USD", "unitText": "per contractor/month"” Read from the page's own schema.org structured data and corroborated by the Global Contractors section, which prints the same figure. The summary card at the top of the page shows a different number for this product; see the watchouts.
- Remote, Contractor Management: $29 per contractor/month — “Contractor Management $29 per contractor/month”
- G-P, G-P Contractor: from $39 per month, per contractor — “Starts at $39 per month, per contractor.”
- Deel, Contractor management: $49 per contractor per month — “$49 per contractor per month”
The other product with the same unit: contractor of record
These figures are also quoted “per contractor per month” and they are not comparable with the ones above. In a contractor-of-record arrangement the provider engages the contractor itself, which is why it prices at a multiple of a payments tool: the difference is who is exposed if the engagement is later reclassified as employment. Ranking the two together would present a liability transfer as an expensive invoicing product.
- Papaya Global, Contractor of Record (COR): from $199 per contractor/month — “Contractor of Record (COR) Hire & pay contractors compliantly starting from $199 per contractor/month”
- Deel, Contractor of Record: $325 per contractor of record per month — “$325 per contractor of record per month”
- Remote, Contractor of Record: from $325 per contractor/month — “Contractor of Record From $325 per contractor/month”
- Multiplier, Contractor of Record: from $399 per contractor per month — “Contractor of Record pricing starts at $399 per contractor per month.”
The gap inside a single provider is the clearest way to see the pricing of that risk. Deel charges $49 to manage a contractor and $325 to be the contractor of record, a difference of $276 a contractor a month. Whether that is worth paying depends on a legal exposure this page cannot size for you.

- Pebl: publishes other figures but no contractor-management fee. Nothing is estimated for it here.
How this is verified
Every figure on this page was read from the provider’s own page and is stored with that page’s URL, a verbatim quote, and the date it was checked (most recent: August 6, 2026). 1 of these 8 pages could not be read with a plain HTTP request and was read in a browser at the same URL, with each billing option selected in turn. Where a provider publishes no number we say so instead of repeating a figure from elsewhere, and the one provider here that publishes none has no figure attributed to it anywhere on this site. A figure the provider itself prefixes with “from” or “starts at” is printed as a floor, because that is the provider’s own distinction and not ours; a total built from a floor is labelled a floor too. Totals are arithmetic on published figures only. See our editorial standards and how we verify.
Which providers are in it. The eight global-employment platforms an English-speaking buyer is most likely to shortlist, chosen before any price was read and not filtered afterwards. A provider that publishes no price stays in the index with that recorded as its finding, because who publishes and who does not is the thing this index exists to show. Nobody is excluded for being expensive, for being quiet, or for paying nothing.
Frequently asked questions
Which contractor management platforms cost under $50 a month?
5 of the 8 in this index publish a figure at or under it: Papaya Global (from $5), Oyster ($29), Remote ($29), G-P (from $39) and Deel ($49), verified August 6, 2026. These are per-contractor platform fees and they exclude what you pay the contractor.
What is the cheapest contractor management software?
Papaya Global at a stated starting price of $5 per contractor/month, verified August 6, 2026. Read the product name beside it before comparing: the cheapest entries in this category are invoicing and payments tools, and they are not the same purchase as a service that takes on classification risk for you.
What is the difference between contractor management and contractor of record?
Who carries the misclassification risk. Contractor management is software for contracting, invoicing and paying people you engage directly. Contractor of record means the provider engages them instead, and prices accordingly: those figures run from $199 to $399 per contractor a month across the 4 providers publishing one. This page ranks only the first kind and lists the second separately.
Do contractor fees include what you pay the contractor?
No. Every figure here is a platform fee: what the provider charges to run the contract, the invoice and the payment. The contractor's own invoice sits outside it entirely, as do currency-conversion costs where a provider charges them, and no provider in this index publishes a combined total.
Which providers publish no contractor price at all?
3 of the 8: Rippling, Multiplier and Pebl. Two of those publish a contractor-of-record figure but no plain contractor-management one, and one publishes no price of any kind. Nothing is estimated for any of them.
