Deel vs Remote
Updated August 6, 2026· every figure checked against the vendor’s own pricing page
They split the two questions. On employment Deel is cheaper: $599 against $699 per employee a month, a difference of $100. On contractors Remote is cheaper, and by more in proportion: $29 against $49 per contractor a month. Both verified on each provider's own pricing page on August 6, 2026, and neither of those four figures carries a starting-at qualifier. On the mix this index prices, 3 employees and 1 contractor, Deel comes to $1,846 a month and Remote to $2,126, because employment dominates the total. This is a platform fee. It excludes salary, statutory employer contributions, mandatory benefits, severance accruals, deposits, implementation fees and every country-specific government cost, all of which dominate the real bill and none of which any provider in this index publishes a total for. The larger difference is not price: Remote answers the deposit and setup-fee questions on its own pricing page and Deel does not address them.
Every figure on this page is a platform fee. It is what the provider charges to employ or engage someone on your behalf, and it excludes salary, statutory employer contributions, mandatory benefits, severance accruals, deposits, implementation fees and every country-specific government cost. Those dominate the real bill, they vary enormously by country, and no provider in this index publishes a total that includes them — several say so on their own pages. Nothing here is the cost of hiring anyone.
RangeYourself has no affiliate relationship with any provider on this page as of August 6, 2026: every link here goes straight to the provider’s own site and earns us nothing. We may pursue one in this category, and if we do we will say so here. Either way the ordering follows published figures, and a provider that pays nothing is listed on exactly the same basis as one that does. See how we make money and our editorial standards.
Side by side
| Provider | EOR, per employee a month | Contractor management | Platform fee for 3 employees and 1 contractor |
|---|---|---|---|
| Deel | $599 per EOR employee per month | $49 per contractor per month | $1,846/mo |
| Remote | $699 per employee/month | $29 per contractor/month | $2,126/mo |
The crossover depends entirely on your mix. Employment costs $100 more a head on Remote; contractors cost $20 more a head on Deel. So Remote wins on a contractor-heavy roster and Deel on an employee-heavy one, and the break-even is roughly 5 contractors per employee — arithmetic on their own four published figures, not a recommendation.

Deel’s products
| Product | Published figure | Unit | The provider's own words |
|---|---|---|---|
| Employer of Record (EOR) | $599 | per EOR employee per month | “$599 per EOR employee per month” |
| Contractor management | $49 | per contractor per month | “$49 per contractor per month” |
| Contractor of Record | $325 | per contractor of record per month | “$325 per contractor of record per month” |
| US PEO | $125 | per US PEO employee per month | “$125 per US PEO employee per month” |
Remote’s products, and the three it marks as floors
| Product | Published figure | Unit | The provider's own words |
|---|---|---|---|
| Employer of Record | $699 | per employee/month | “Employer of Record $699 per employee/month” |
| Contractor Management | $29 | per contractor/month | “Contractor Management $29 per contractor/month” |
| Contractor of Record | From $325 | per contractor/month | “Contractor of Record From $325 per contractor/month” |
| Professional Employer Organization | From $99 | per employee/month | “Professional Employer Organization From $99 per employee/month” |
| Payroll | $29 | per employee/month | “Payroll $29 per employee/month” |
Remote's page does something none of the others do quite as clearly: it divides its own products into two classes. Employer of Record, Contractor Management and Payroll carry a plain figure. Contractor of Record, PEO and Equity are each prefixed “From”. So when Remote publishes “Contractor of Record From $325 per contractor/month”, it is telling you that number bounds the price from below rather than sets it — and Deel's equivalent product, at $325, carries no such qualifier.
What each one says about the money that is not the fee
This is where the two pages differ most, and it has nothing to do with price. Remote answers both questions directly: on setup it states “There are no platform, onboarding, or setup fees for our HR management, EOR, and Contractor Management products.”, and on deposits its own pricing-page headline reads “Transparent price guarantee. Tiered product pricing. No upfront deposits required.” with an FAQ qualifying it: “We collect reserve payments in rare, high risk circumstances. This is a form of financial security that enables us to pay employees even if the customer is unable to pay us.”. Deel's pricing page addresses neither. That is a difference in what the two pages tell you, and not evidence that Deel charges anything Remote does not.
Deel does publish one contract term Remote does not: its current PEO offer is conditioned on “For qualifying Order Forms with minimum two (2) year terms, Deel will credit Customer with three (3) months of complimentary Platform Fees”. That applies to the US PEO product only and touches neither provider's EOR figure.
How many countries each one actually claims
Both publish more than one country count, for different things, and the larger number is the one that travels. Deel states “EOR: Full legal employment in 130+ countries globally” for the product and “150+ countries” for the platform. Remote states “Hire without opening a local entity in 90+ countries” on the EOR card itself. Those two EOR figures, 130+ and 90+, are the ones to compare; they are also both marketing claims that we quote rather than verify.
This page compares what each provider publishes about price and terms. It makes no claim about which platform is better to work with, faster to onboard through, or more reliable on payroll, because those are not things a pricing page can establish and we have not used any of them.
Worth saying plainly, because it shapes what you are reading: RangeYourself currently has no affiliate relationship with any provider on this page, and every provider link here goes straight to that provider’s own site. If that changes, this line changes with it. Nothing here is written to push you towards a demo, no provider pays for placement, and the ranked tables sort on published figures rather than on anything we are paid.
Frequently asked questions
Is Deel cheaper than Remote?
For employment, yes: $599 against $699 per employee a month, verified August 6, 2026. For contractors, no: Remote charges $29 against Deel's $49 per contractor a month. Both sets of figures are platform fees and exclude salary and statutory employer costs.
What is the difference between Deel and Remote on contractors?
Two things. The price: $29 on Remote against $49 on Deel for managing contractors yourself. And the qualifier on the tier above: Remote's Contractor of Record is published as "Contractor of Record From $325 per contractor/month", a starting price, while Deel's is published as a plain $325.
Does Deel or Remote require a deposit?
Remote states none is required, and separately that it collects reserve payments in rare, high-risk circumstances — its words: "We collect reserve payments in rare, high risk circumstances. This is a form of financial security that enables us to pay employees even if the customer is unable to pay us." Deel's pricing page does not address deposits either way, which is not the same as stating there are none. Of the 8 providers in this index, 2 state that no deposit is required, 1 state that one is, and 5 do not say.
Which is cheaper for 3 employees and 1 contractor?
Deel, at $1,846 a month in platform fees against Remote's $2,126, verified August 6, 2026. Employment dominates that mix, so Deel's lower per-employee figure outweighs Remote's lower contractor figure. Flip the mix and the answer flips with it.
Do Deel and Remote publish annual discounts?
Neither publishes one. Deel's pricing page has no billing-term choice at all, and Remote's publishes a single figure per product. Only one provider in this index, Multiplier, publishes a monthly figure beside an annual one: $499 against $459, a gap of 8% by our arithmetic on its own two figures, beside a toggle its page labels "Monthly Yearly (save 8%)".
How we verify this
Every figure on this page was read from the provider’s own page and is stored with that page’s URL, a verbatim quote, and the date it was checked (most recent: August 6, 2026). 1 of these 8 pages could not be read with a plain HTTP request and was read in a browser at the same URL, with each billing option selected in turn. Where a provider publishes no number we say so instead of repeating a figure from elsewhere, and the one provider here that publishes none has no figure attributed to it anywhere on this site. A figure the provider itself prefixes with “from” or “starts at” is printed as a floor, because that is the provider’s own distinction and not ours; a total built from a floor is labelled a floor too. Totals are arithmetic on published figures only. See our editorial standards and how we verify.
