How Much Does Ignition Cost?

Updated August 6, 2026· every figure checked against the vendor’s own pricing page

Ignition costs $49 a month on Solo, $149 on Core and $279 on Pro paying month to month; commit to a year and those become $39, $99 and $229. Those are prices for the whole account, not per seat, and each tier includes a set number of users and active clients rather than an unlimited allowance. All verified on Ignition's own pricing data on August 6, 2026. The number most people miss is the second one: Ignition also charges on every payment it collects. On 3 people, 30 active clients and $20,000 of client payments a month across 10 payments, the subscription for a firm of 3 is $149 and the payment fees add $503 by card or $50 by bank transfer, because Ignition caps the bank fee at $5 a transaction.

The subscription is not the cost. 4 of the 8 tools here take a cut of every client payment that passes through them, and 2 of those publish the whole charge; the other 2 publish their own share and point at the payment processor for the rest, so no all-in figure for them appears on this site. Where a vendor states that a fee is borne by the client rather than the firm, it is reported in its own column and never folded into the firm’s total — and never dropped either, because it is still a real cost of collecting the money.

RangeYourself has no affiliate relationship with any tool on this page as of August 6, 2026: every link here goes straight to the vendor’s own site and earns us nothing. We may pursue one in this category, and if we do we will say so here. Either way the ordering follows published prices and published fees, and a vendor that pays nothing is listed on exactly the same basis as one that does. Every Ignition tier, on both billing terms

Read on 2026-08-06. The pricing page loads its own figures from a JSON endpoint on the same domain, which serves every tier's monthly price, annual price, user allowance, active-client allowance, per-additional-client rate and the full payments fee schedule. Both were read; they agree.

TierNon-annual priceBilled annuallyWho and what it includes
Solo$49/mo$39/mo1 user account · 20 active clients with signed agreements · $7 per additional active client
Core$149/mo$99/mo3 user accounts · 50 active clients with signed agreements · $5 per additional active client
Pro$279/mo$229/mo15 user accounts · 350 active clients with signed agreements · $3 per additional active client
Pro+$499/mo$399/moUnlimited user accounts · 600 active clients with signed agreements · $2 per additional active client

Ignition prices the account rather than the seat, which makes it cheap for a small firm and awkward at the boundaries. The Solo tier includes 1 user account, so a two-person firm cannot buy it: the next step is Core at $149, which is 3.0 times the price rather than one seat more.

The meter that is not seats: active clients

Ignition meters on active clients with signed agreements, and the per-client rate falls as the tier rises: Solo includes 20 and charges $7 beyond that, Core includes 50 and charges $5 beyond that, Pro includes 350 and charges $3 beyond that and Pro+ includes 600 and charges $2 beyond that. That inverts the usual shape. The cheapest tier is the most expensive place to add a client, so a firm sitting just over an allowance is often better off moving up than paying the overage.

The payment fees, which are the larger number

On 3 people, 30 active clients and $20,000 of client payments a month across 10 payments, that is $503 a month by card against $50 by bank transfer — a difference of $453 a month, or $5,436 a year, on identical invoices. The reason is the cap: Ignition's bank fee is 1% plus $0.3, and its own published rate card records “"bankAccountCap":"5.00"”, limiting the charge to $5 a transaction. So above about $470 an invoice the bank fee stops growing and the card fee does not. Which payment method your clients use is a bigger decision than which tier you buy.

Two qualifications Ignition publishes itself. It adds “For transactions of $3,000 or more, we charge an additional 0.3% fee on the portion of the transaction above the $3,000 threshold.”, which does not apply at the invoice size priced above but does on larger ones. And committing to an annual subscription does not fix the payment rates: “For transactions of $3,000 or more, we charge an additional 0.3% fee on the portion of the transaction above the $3,000 threshold.”

The subscription is not the cost. 4 of the 8 tools here take a cut of every client payment that passes through them, and 2 of those publish the whole charge; the other 2 publish their own share and point at the payment processor for the rest, so no all-in figure for them appears on this site. A fee a vendor states the client bears is reported separately and never folded into the firm's total — and never dropped, because it is still a real cost of collecting the money.

What that comes to against the rest of the category

On subscription alone Ignition is 7th of 8 for a firm of 3. Once the card fees on $20,000 of client payments are added it is 8th of 8. Both are true and they answer different questions, which is exactly why this index publishes the second number: 4 of the 8 tools here take nothing on payments at all, and comparing them with Ignition on subscription alone compares a billing platform with a document tool.

This page compares what each vendor publishes about price, fees and terms. It makes no claim about which tool produces better proposals, converts more of them, or is nicer to use, because those are not things a pricing page can establish and we have not used them.

What is not on this page

  • Any commission. RangeYourself has no affiliate relationship with Ignition, and the link here goes to Ignition.
  • Any figure Ignition does not publish. Its enterprise and volume arrangements are handled by email and no number is stated for them, so none appears here.
  • A recommendation about payment method. The arithmetic above is Ignition’s own published rates applied to one invoice size; run it on yours.
  • Any claim about how Ignition performs. This is a price and terms comparison.

Worth saying plainly, because it shapes what you are reading: RangeYourself currently has no affiliate relationship with any tool on this page, and every vendor link here goes straight to the vendor’s own site. If that changes, this line changes with it. Nothing here is written to push you towards a trial, no vendor pays for placement, and the ranked tables sort on published figures rather than on anything we are paid.

Frequently asked questions

What is the cheapest Ignition plan?

Solo, at $49 a month month-to-month or $39 billed annually, verified August 6, 2026. That is a price for the whole account, but it includes 1 user account and 20 active clients with signed agreements, so a firm of two has to buy Core at $149 instead.

Does Ignition charge fees on payments?

Yes, and they are published. Card payments are 2.5% plus $0.3 per transaction, with a higher rate for Amex and international cards. Bank or ACH payments are 1% plus $0.3, capped at $5 a transaction. On $20,000 a month that is $503 by card or $50 by bank.

Is Ignition per user or per account?

Per account. Every tier is one price however many people use it, up to that tier's stated user allowance: Solo 1, Core 3, Pro 15, and unlimited on Pro+. 4 of the 8 tools in this index price per account and 4 price per seat, which is the single biggest driver of what a small firm pays.

Does paying annually fix the Ignition payment fees?

No, and Ignition says so directly: "For transactions of $3,000 or more, we charge an additional 0.3% fee on the portion of the transaction above the $3,000 threshold." The annual commitment fixes the subscription price for the year. The fee on the money is charged monthly at whatever rate applies at the time.

What does Ignition cost for a firm of 3?

$149 a month in subscription on Core month-to-month, or $99 billed annually, verified August 6, 2026. Add $503 a month if that firm collects $20,000 by card, or $50 if by bank transfer.

Is there a free trial?

Fourteen days with no card, and Ignition states that up to $10,000 of payments process with no fee during it: "During your free 14-day trial, you’ll have access to all listed features regardless of the plan, including payments. You can collect up to $10,000 in payments with zero fees during the trial period."

How we verify this

Every figure on this page was read from the vendor’s own page and is stored with that page’s URL, a verbatim quote, and the date it was checked (most recent: August 6, 2026). 2 of these 8 pricing pages could not be read with a plain HTTP request and were read in a browser at the same URL, with each billing option selected in turn. Payment fees are only counted against a firm where the vendor states the firm bears them; where a vendor states the client bears one, it is published separately rather than added or hidden. Where a vendor publishes only its own share of a payment fee and points at a processor for the rest, no all-in total is computed, because the vendor has not published one. Totals are arithmetic on published figures only, and where a vendor prints a yearly total but no monthly equivalent, dividing that total by twelve is labelled where it appears. See our editorial standards and how we verify.
